Giving back to the community is an integral part of our culture at Martin Hospitality. We are proud and honored to carry on a tradition started by our founders, Jan and Steve Martin, of giving resources, time and energy to non-profit organizations, events and community activities.
Due to the volume of requests, it is not an easy decision to select recipients from so many worthwhile causes. In order to make a measurable difference in the lives of others and the communities in which we work and live, we have selected the following key focus areas:
- Arts
- Education
- Child-Related Causes
If you are interested in applying for a donation from the Martin Hospitality family of remarkable resorts, inns and restaurants, please complete the following application. Our Charitable Contributions Committee meets once a month to review all the submitted applications. A written response will be sent no later than 45 days from the receipt of your application.

Listed below are some of the organizations that Martin Hospitality has supported over the last year.
6th Annual Steve Martin Memorial Golf Tournament
The 6th Annual Steve Martin Memorial Golf Tournament was a resounding success. We would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in the tournament and who supported the event.
Besides being a great day spent in the company of friends there were many opportunities throughout the tournament to have a little extra fun. Whether it was with a hand of Blackjack with the Surfsand Resort Sales Team or a shot at the putting or chipping contest, a good time was had by all. Go to www.martinhospitality.com/golf2008 to see the pictures taken at this year’s event.
The Low Gross first place award went to the foursome of Jim Bayne, Tom Mauldin, Jeff Etchison and Joe Schulte. The Low Net first place award went to the foursome of Tom Dalrymple, Scott Peterson, Greg Swanson and Jeff Gibbs. The Low Gross second place award went to the foursome of John Davidson, Laura Davidson, Keith Pottle and Darcy Pottle. The Low Net second place award went to the foursome of Paul Nofield, Patrick Nofield, Mike Weber and Tom Drumheller.
Additional winners of this year’s contests:
Chipping Contest – Keith Pottle
Putting Contest – Paul Roehr
Women’s Long Drive – Terrie Marshall
Men’s Long Drive – Jared Delay
Women’s KP – Claudia Green
Men’s KP – Mike Pierce
This year’s auction raised the most money in the history of the event. This was due, in large part to the generous donations made to the auction and the attendees’ willingness to support a great cause. Steve Martin always said “Do It For The Kids,” and this year you certainly did.
The proceeds from the tournament fund several scholarships. These scholarships are awarded to students enrolled in Mt. Hood Community College’s Hospitality and Tourism Program, the industry that Steve Martin loved. Also, scholarships are provided for graduating high school seniors from the communities that Steve called home—Seaside and The Dalles.
We hope to see you at next year’s event on September 11, 2009 at Gearhart Golf Links.
